St. Patrick's Day Parade
When:Sunday, March 17, 2002 St George and Bloor
Event Description: The St Patrick's Day Parade is one of Toronto's largest parades, and we're invited to participate.

We'll meet on St. George Street near Hoskins at 11:00am. Our position number is E35. The general vicinity is St. George/Bloor, St. George Station, Varsity Stadium, Yonge/Bloor.

Please meet at 11:00am and be on time. We need to put ribbons into our wheels, distribute top hats and t-shirts.

Please wear all black. It'll be sunny with cloudy periods, high of 4 degrees. Dress warmly.

The parade route is: Devonshire/Bloor (St. George Station) east to Yonge/Bloor, south on Yonge to Queen, west on Queen to University, ending at University Station.

Banff Festival of Mountain Films
When:Saturday, January 19, 2002 at the Humanities Theatre, University of Waterloo
Event Description: The Banff Festival of Mountain Films is just around the corner and chances are good that Kris Holm and Nathan Hoover's Unizaba will be played.

Unizaba follows Kris Holm and Nathan Hoover as they climb and then unicycle down Mexico's highest volcano, El Pico de Orizaba. It was entered and chosen as one of the films to tour this year.

There will be two screenings that day (an afternoon and an evening screening. The afternoon screening starts at 2pm and the evening screening starts at 7pm. There will be approx. 1 hour between the two screenings (maybe more) and the evening screening will likely end around 11pm. (I'm going by what happened last year). The two screenings will show significantly different films (there maybe 1 or 2 of the more popular films played at both screenings, hopefully unizaba will be one of those).

Each screening usually plays 10 short films over the span of approx. 3 - 4 hours). I strongly recommend attending both screenings as they show different films and if you enjoy the outdoors you'll love these films ... and if you love mountains then you'll love them even more. :) They have everything from Mountaineering to Mountain Unicycling

Bring your unicycles, so we can ride in on them. If you plan on staying for both screenings then we can do a little ride through UW in the snow in between screenings and pick up some dinner.

If you're interested please let Carl Hoyer (carl@mountainunicycling.com) know by December 10th as he'll be arranging the ticket purchases. The tickets cost $12/screening, so for both screenings you'll pay $24 + applicable taxes ($4/screening increase over last year).

Windsor Santa Claus Parade
When:Saturday, December 15, 2001 at 6:00pm

We will be arriving for the parade at about 5:00pm. The parade starts at 6:00pm and is about 1 hour long. (Like the Weston parade.) After the parade we will be heading back to Toronto. (Something will be done about food on the way home - TBD at this time.) We should be back around 11:30pm.

Parade dress will be all black with the red vests and hats. I am working on getting battery powered Christmas lights for each rider to wear! (It's a evening parade!) Layer your clothes, it may be cold in a few weeks.

Please check out the parade website to get a better idea of what to expect. To read everything on the site it should be about 15 minutes. Kinda neat how it developed.
